Terms & Conditions
Made to order costumes
1. Ordering
You can place an order by either visiting our Plymouth showroom, completing an order form which you can copy from our website and either send it via post along with a cheque or via email including your card details. You are also welcome to call us and place your order over the phone.
2. Deposits.
A non refundable deposit of £100 per costume is required upon placing a "made to order" costume. Once designs etc are agreed you will need to send a 50% deposit of the agreed price (minus your non refundable deposit of £100) for each costume ordered.
3. Payment
You can pay by cheque (payable to Starlights), by cash or by debit or credit card by telephoning 01752 769957.
4. Postage Costs
Postage & packaging costs are as follows: A single unstoned costume £10 A single stoned costume £18 This gives you insurance of up to £1000 and is sent by Royal Mail 'Special Delivery'.
5. Turn Around Time
We normally work on a 6 to 8 week turn around on costumes from when designs are agreed and deposits are paid. At very busy times this can sometimes be slightly longer and at quieter times can be shorter. If you have a competition that you would like your costume(s) for please tell us and if at all possible we will try to have them ready for then.
6. Guarantees
If you are not fully satisfied with your costume(s) we will try our best to rectify the problem first but if this is not possible then we will give you a full refund (less your non refundable deposit) providing the costume(s) are returned with 7 days, unworn and in the same condition we sent them to you with all tags attached. Once worn, your costume(s) is no longer guaranteed. We do not advise on the washing of costumes and therefore you do so at your own risk.
7. Measurements
We prefer, if possible for you to visit our showroom for us to take the necessary measurements, however, if this is not possible we will talk you through the measurements we need over the telephone. We will call you when we need the measurements as we do not take them until the costume(s) is about to be made.
8. Alterations
We prefer, if at all possible for you to visit our showroom for a fitting prior to the costume(s) being completed. If it is not possible for you to visit our showroom then we will complete and send the costume(s) to you but you will be liable for any postage costs for the return of the costume(s) for alteration. You need to notify us within 3 days if any alterations need to be made, any alterations at a later stage will be charged for and we reserve the right to refuse any alterations requested.
9. Stoning Costumes
We are happy to stone any starter costume(s) that have been made by us to be used for intermediates. A separate quotation will be given for this. You will be liable for any postage costs incurred.
10. Showroom & Website Costumes
When ordering showroom costumes from our website we will require you to pay the FULL amount of the costume(s) ordered plus the postage charge. You will receive a FULL refund, excluding postage costs, providing the costume(s) is returned to us within 7 days, unworn and in the same condition they were sent to you with all tags attached.
